Bank identifiers by mail

You can order a replacement for a lost security card/forgotten password if you have a valid agreement on bank identifiers.

We don't recommend to order using P.O. Box or Poste Restante addresses.

You can choose between the following security card models:

  • plastic card of credit card size,
  • paper card with a larger typeface, or
  • paper card in Braille

You will receive a new security card to replace a completely used one by mail. However, do not forget to use all of the numbers on the old security card first

Ordering bank identifiers by mail

Bank identifier orders (new security cards and passwords) will be delivered as registered international mail with advice of receipt to your local post office. Collect the shipment personally against advice of receipt. Be prepared to establish your identity.

We will only deliver bank identifiers by mail to countries served by Finnish Post's registered mail service with advice of receipt.

We don't recommend to order using P.O. Box or Poste Restante addresses.

For security reasons, bank identifiers delivered abroad will always be locked. Upon receipt of the shipment, do the following:

  1. Sign the bank identifier agreement or the covering letter for a security card/password and enclose a copy of your valid passport.
  2. Return them in the return envelope we provide.

The bank identifiers will be activated for your use once we have received the requested material.

Ordering bank identifiers by DHL courier service

The DHL courier service will provide you with bank identifiers faster. We will only deliver bank identifiers by mail to countries served by DHL's registered mail service.

Estimated delivery times for DHL courier service:

  • EU area next business day after order
  • USA 1-2 business days after order
  • Far East 2-3 business days after order


Bank identifiers cannot be ordered by DHL courier service using P.O. Box or Poste Restante addresses.

Bank identifiers will only be given to you personally. Be prepared to establish your identity when receiving the delivery. For security reasons, bank identifiers will be locked. Upon receipt of the shipment, do the following:

  1. Sign the bank identifier agreement or the covering letter for a security card/password and enclose a copy of your valid passport.
  2. Put the documents in the return envelope included in your shipment.
  3. Fill in your complete sender information in the preprinted DHL shipment form and sign the shipment form.
  4. Give the shipment to the courier for delivery to Danske Bank.

The bank identifiers will be activated for your use once we have received the requested material.
