KPY in brief
KPY is a value-based cooperative and modern investment company established in Finland in 1883. KPY aims to create value for its owners and to promote the vitality of society by strengthening companies’ competitiveness, growth, profitability and renewal through active ownership. KPY makes investments throughout Finland and its portfolio companies operate in several sectors both in Finland and internationally.
KPY implements its business strategy in the manner of an investment company through three investment portfolios: infrastructure, private equity and balance sheet investments. The infrastructure portfolio includes commercial properties and infrastructure-related investments, the most important of which is KPY’s subsidiary Novapolis. Investments in the private equity portfolio are made through the private equity company Sentica and focus on domestic medium-sized growth-oriented companies with a proven business model. KPY’s current balance sheet investments complement the whole through direct ownership stakes in selected companies.
KPY’s goal is to increase the value of its holdings over the long term and it takes an active part in developing its portfolio companies together with management and other owners. The focus of KPY’s investment activities has shifted towards investments made through funds. This broadens the capital base and also offers private individuals the opportunity to invest in a pre-diversified portfolio that consists of infrastructure investments – currently including KPY’s property investments – as well as investments in unlisted companies.
