Key changes from 9 October 2025 onwards
Fast payments - in principle, all payments in euros will be transferred in seconds, around the clock, every day of the year, also at weekends and on public holidays in the euro area
Verification of payee – going forward, the customer will receive a notification when making a payment from a account if the payee's name and account number do not match the information in the receiving bank's register
The changes require no particular action by customers - the only thing the customer needs to do is to ensure that the payee's name is entered correctly in conjunction with payment.

Payments arrive in seconds – at any time
For the customer, one of the biggest benefits of the change is payment speed. As a result of the Instant Payment Regulation, from 9 October 2025 onwards, euro-denominated credit transfers will be transferred to the recipient's account in seconds, regardless of whether the transfer is domestic or between euro countries. This means that a payment made in the evening, at the weekend or on a public holiday, for example, will arrive almost immediately.
Verification of payee
Verification of payee (VoP) is a key part of the changes. The purpose of verification is to increase the security of payments by ensuring that they reach the right recipient and by reducing the risk of a customer sending money to the wrong account by mistake or as a result of a scam. Going forward, when making a payment in eBanking or the Mobile bank, the bank will check whether the information provided by the customer matches the name and account number of the payee at the receiving bank before proceeding with the payment. Read more about what notifications in eBanking or the Mobile bank mean in the table below.
Recurring payments will remain unchanged from 9 October 2025 onwards as before until some changes are made to them. The next time you make a change to an existing recurring payment, eBanking and the Mobile bank will notify you if the name and account number of the payee do not match. In these situations, we recommend that you check the name of the payee and, where necessary, contact the payee.
Changes to payments in eBanking – new, more modern payments section
As a result of the Instant Payment Regulation, we will introduce changes to payments from accounts in eBanking. The payments section will be more modern in terms of design, while retaining the previous features. Making payments and payment agreements will continue to be just as effortless.
In addition to a changed appearance, payments in eBanking will now be made in steps. This means that payment details are entered into eBanking step by step as requested. Customers can proceed to the next step of the payment once the requested details have been successfully completed.
In the new version, payment starts by first entering the amount and then the beneficiary's details. The default in eBanking is to transfer funds between own accounts, so when making a transfer to someone else, this option must be selected from the menu that appears during the payment transaction. Other details, such as the payment identification information (reference number), are not added until the end of payment.
Verification of payee (VoP) takes place automatically when the beneficiary's name is entered in the field provided or when the saved beneficiary details are used.
